We welcome new volunteers to help in the following areas:

Our Trustees

They are responsible for setting strategy, managing resources responsibly, and acting in the charity’s best interests, which includes protecting its reputation and assets.

Ultimately, trustees have the final legal responsibility for the charity’s governance and management.

Management Team

The management team look after the museum on a day-today basis.

From preparing and maintaining the exhibitions, looking after the exhibits both on display and in store, they promote the museum to the wider public and support the volunteer hosts.

Hosts

Our hosts spend two or three weekend afternoons throughout the season, welcoming visitors and answering basic questions about the exhibits.

There is no requirement for any previous experience or knowledge of local history. A friendly and welcoming demeanour is more important.

If you have skills, experience or interests that don’t fit the roles above but that you feel would benefit the museum, we’d still love to hear from you.
